2. The Android app (Google Play)

The Ginir Online Android app is a Trusted Web Activity / WebView wrapper that displays the same product as https://ginir.online. It does not add a separate native account system, ad network, or analytics SDK beyond what the website already uses.

When you use the app, you are using ginir.online. Data described in this policy for the website therefore also applies inside the Android app. Device permissions you grant (for example notifications or location) are used only to support marketplace features described below.

3. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Ginir Online, we may process:

• Account & identity — display name, shop name, email (Google sign-in), Telegram identity, phone number (including OTP verification for sellers), profile photo, and role (buyer/seller).
• Seller verification — Fayda (Ethiopian National ID) images and related verification fields for admin review. National ID numbers are not shown on public profiles.
• Listings & commerce — product photos, titles, descriptions, prices, category, condition, location labels, buy requests, and related inbox notifications.
• Location — approximate GPS coordinates and a human-readable location label when you allow location access (mainly for sellers so buyers can see where items are offered).
• Device & notifications — browser/app push subscription endpoints (Web Push) if you enable alerts; optional ntfy topic for seller alerts; basic technical logs needed to keep the service secure.
• Payments for promoted listings — payment method you select and receipt images you upload for package review. We do not collect or store full card numbers inside Ginir Online.
• Analytics — optional privacy-friendly website analytics (for example Umami) to understand aggregate traffic. We do not sell advertising profiles.

4. How we use information

• Provide and improve the Ginir Town marketplace.
• Authenticate users and secure accounts (OTP, Google, Telegram).
• Verify sellers and reduce fraud or abuse.
• Send in-app and (if enabled) push notifications about buy requests, listings, verification, and account status.
• Review promoted-listing payments and moderate content.
• Comply with legal obligations where applicable.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with:

• Infrastructure providers that host our servers, database, and media storage.
• Message delivery partners you choose to use (for example Telegram for OTP or login when you use Telegram).
• Other Ginir users only as needed for marketplace function (shop name, listing details, and phone number when a buyer chooses Call Seller).
• Authorities when required by applicable law.

6. Data safety summary (Google Play)

For Google Play's Data safety form, Ginir Online may collect and process categories such as: personal info (name, email, phone), photos/videos (listing and ID verification images), location (approximate, if permitted), and app activity / notifications related to marketplace use. Data is used for app functionality, account management, fraud prevention, and communications. Data is not sold. Data may be shared as described in section 5.

7. Retention

We keep account and listing data while your account is active and as needed for safety, disputes, abuse prevention, and legal requirements. Verification images are retained for review and compliance. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us (see Contact).

8. Your choices

• Browse listings without signing in.
• Deny location or notification permission in system settings.
• Disable seller alerts in Account settings where available.
• Sign out and stop using the service at any time.
• Request correction or deletion of account information where practical by emailing privacy@ginir.online.

9. Security

We use HTTPS, access controls for admin tools, and reasonable operational safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong account and do not share OTP codes.

10. Children

Ginir Online is intended for adults who can form contracts under Ethiopian law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of ginir.online or the Android app after updates means you accept the revised policy.
